The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has extended winter holidays for schools in plain areas, pushing the reopening date to January 6.
According to an official notification, the extension applies only to schools in the plain regions of the province. Initially, winter vacations for these schools were scheduled from December 23 to 31, while those in mountainous areas remain on holiday from December 23 until February 29, 2025.
Extension Likely in Sindh
Meanwhile, in Sindh, the current 10-day winter vacation period is set to end today. However, due to forecasts of severe cold in the first half of January, the provincial government is expected to announce an additional 10-day extension. A final decision, however, is pending and will be made by the Sindh Education Minister.
These adjustments reflect efforts to prioritize the safety and well-being of students amid harsh winter conditions.
