On Friday, it was revealed that the traffic police had approved a massive increase in the fee for improper parking in the capital city of Punjab.
According to reports, the fine has been raised from Rs 200 to Rs 2,000, and a campaign has also been started to reduce wrong-way parking in the city.
Muntazir Mehdi, the chief traffic officer for Lahore, urged citizens to abide by the law to avoid fines and said that inappropriate vehicles will be subject to a Rs. 2,000 charge.
According to him, a campaign against unauthorized parking lots in the city has already begun. According to CTO, the zero-tolerance policy will deter people from breaking traffic laws.
