Youm-e-Takbeer is marked with national fervour and devotion on Sunday to commemorate the momentous nuclear testing conducted in Chaghi, Balochistan, in 1998.
On this day, Pakistan became the world’s seventh nuclear power, and the first in the Muslim world, after conducting nuclear tests at Chaghai in Balochistan on May 28, 1998, in response to India’s nuclear bomb tests at Pokhran in the Rajasthan state of India on the 11th and 13th of the same year.
Pakistan’s defence became invincible as a result of the successful tests.
In the morning, special prayers were said for Pakistan’s advancement and prosperity, the supremacy of the constitution, and the abolition of terrorism.
