At just 11 years old, Muhammad Hasnain from Saadi Town has amazed Pakistan by creating an AI assistant robot named “Muhammad Ali.” Activated by voice command, this robot demonstrates the incredible ingenuity and passion for technology that this young boy possesses.
Hasnain’s journey into robotics began two years ago when he enrolled in a beginner’s robotics course at the Imam Hussain Institute in Karachi. Fascinated by the field, he returned this year for further training. His AI assistant robot is the result of his final summer project.
Demonstrating how his creation works, Hasnain explained, “Muhammad Ali listens, processes commands, and responds like a human. I programmed him to perform tasks when I call his name, and he is connected to my laptop.” The robot can assist with various activities, from opening websites to helping with household chores, all based on Hasnain’s programming.
To showcase its capabilities, Hasnain asked the robot to provide a chai recipe, to which the robot promptly responded, eliciting a laugh from the young innovator. “Of course, being Pakistani, he knows how much we love chai,” Hasnain quipped.
Despite being just 11, Hasnain has built his robot independently without outsourcing any components, and even university students seek his help with their projects. While still perfecting the robot’s head with a 3D printer, Hasnain continues to work tirelessly on refining his invention.
Hasnain aspires to pursue a career in robotics and game development, two areas he’s deeply passionate about. His remarkable story serves as an inspiring reminder of the incredible potential within Pakistan’s youth. While some may choose to leave the country, young innovators like Hasnain show that investing in our future can pave the way for a modern and better Pakistan.
